Hometown Helping Hand is a new program implemented by the Board of Light & Power (BLP) and the Salvation Army to make additional funds available to assist families in need pay their past due electric bills.

The BLP is donating a portion of the revenue generated from our door tag disconnect notice program to this fund.  Funds will be held by the BLP for distribution through the local Salvation Army’s assistance programs.

You can also help by making tax-deductible contributions to this special fund.  100% of the contributions you make will go to this assistance program and be used to help local families in need.

To make a one-time donation, simply include a separate check with your utility bill payment made out to the Board of Light & Power with “Hometown Helping Hand” written on the memo line.

To set up a recurring monthly contribution, please download and complete the form listed below and return it with your BLP utility bill stub and payment, or drop it off at our office.  Your monthly contribution will show as a separate line item on your electric statement.
