Since 1999, volunteers from the BLP have provided safety training to elementary aged school children in the Grand Haven area. The training is designed for the fourth or fifth grade level and involves viewing an animated safety video followed by a live electrical demonstration using a model of the electric distribution system called powerTOWN™. School presentations can be made to groups of up to 60 children at a time; however, smaller audience sizes allow more interaction. Presentations last approximately one hour.
